Empower the youth

About Us

The West African Youth Empowerment Organization (WAYEOK) was founded in April 2016. WAYEOK is a non-profit organization dedicated to advance education for children and teenagers. We are located in Kokrobite, a fishing community in the outskirts of Accra, the capital of Ghana.

Our aim is to educate the youth with training and equitable skills, to give them a better perspective. Since 2016, we have been hosting volunteers from Germany. With their help we support local schools. In this program, we also promote a cross-cultural exchange between Ghana and Germany. Furthermore, we also run a theatre group, where young people can build their confidence and a set of skills. Additionally, we are now planning to open a youth library, where young people can find access to age-appropriate literature and computers with internet connection.

Our Projects

WAYEOK Theatre

Our theatre group, consisting of young people living in Kokrobite and it’s environs, is always looking for new talents.

Library

We are currently working on our newest project, the youth library, to create a learning space for children and teenagers.

Workshops

We offer workshops to educate the youth in our community. The workshops will train them on specific topics and skills. They are sponsored and therefore free for all participants.
